Get Your Mind Right

There are lots of thoughts about mindset and how it can make or break a successful change. The most popular information is on Carol Dweck’s Growth Mindset. In the book she lays out the important of having a growth mindset when it comes to tackling challenges.

When it comes to coaching, mindset can be tricky. We think of having to change our mindset or instill a new mindset like its actually something we have control over.

When we are kid’s, we are our most pure, most imaginative and most creative. In some ways we, have the ultimate growth mindset. A beginners mind ready to tackle anything that comes our way.

As we age we take on patterns, behaviours and thoughts from those around us. These things influence us, and lead us into a place where we feel stuck and unable to take on challenge. This could be in the workplace, where the rigid rules need to be followed or it could be in a creative practice where someone has told us we are no good.

At Canderry we think that mindset is less about installing and more about unfolding. Through coaching you are able to enquire into the blocks and thought patterns that hold you back. It is only through seeing these limiting beliefs, then choosing a new way forward do we see that we dont need to change our mindset, more get back to who we are.
